Through personal commitment, Filip Krekáč is developing cooperation with the League for Mental Health of the SR

Thanks to strong personal motivation stemming from professional and private values, Filip Krekáč is developing cooperation with the League for Mental Health of the SR (Liga za duševné zdravie SR). It stems from his involvement in the project SPOLUTVORBA /coproduction/. The primary ambition of this project is to innovate the functionality and accessibility of the system of prevention and care for mental health in Slovakia, where peer consultants play a specific role. These are trained people with personal experience of mental illness who, based on what they have experienced or live with, work together with mental health service providers and their customers, i.e. people with mental illness, to achieve a common outcome. The League for Mental Health of the SR is a non-political, charitable, humanitarian, non-professional and independent interest association of citizens and legal entities. The creation of the league dates back to 2000, when there was a need for a strong umbrella organization to improve the lives of the mentally ill and prevent mental disorders.

...Filip Krekáč taking part in peer consulting training at the Calma mental health clinic
Until November 2023, Filip Krekáč is taking part in the traineeship at the Calma mental health clinic. After successfully passing the selection process, he will complete several months of accredited peer consulting training as one of two trainees from the Bratislava Self-governing Region (16 trainees participate in the internship within Slovakia). In addition, in July he completed the Basic course for peer consultants in mental health care, obtaining a certificate issued by the Centre for mental health care development, z. s., with seat in Prague. The peer consultants are trained people with personal experience with mental illness. Based on what they have experienced or are experiencing, relying on the principles of managing their own stabilization, they cooperate with professional providers of mental health services and their users, i.e. people with mental illness, to achieve a result in the form of recovery. The interest in expanding this knowledge and skills set also arose from previous cooperation with the League for Mental Health of the Slovak Republic, where Filip Krekáč was actively involved in a project aimed at innovating the functionality and availability of the system of prevention and care for mental health in Slovakia.
